Taghazout (and Tamraght): The Surf Villages

About 30 minutes north of Agadir lies the Taghazout Bay area (including Tamraght).

• The Vibe: Bohemian, relaxed, surf-focused. Small boutique surf camps, yoga rooftops, and local cafes instead of massive resorts.
• The Surf: World-class. This is where all the famous point breaks and beginner beaches are located.
• Best For: Surfers (of all levels), yoga enthusiasts, solo travelers looking for community, and anyone who prefers a quiet, authentic village vibe over a massive concrete hotel.

The Verdict

If your primary goal is to surf, do not stay in Agadir. You will waste an hour every day commuting to the waves in Taghazout/Tamraght.

If you want a relaxed, surf-culture experience, head straight to Tamraght or Taghazout.
